“I am not leaving the Nazionale,” he replied. “I never considered quitting the Nazionale and I never will.

“What is my motto? You can always give more, even when you have achieved your objectives. There is a margin for improvement, to do something better and unexpected. I hope this can happen with the Nazionale.
“I try never to forget my family and my daughter. That too is the secret to success.”
This being a music festival, Conte was asked about his relationship with song.
“I was very fond of karaoke in my playing days, especially before games. Now I leave the choice of music to my players. I prefer to prepare for a match in silence.
“If I had to dedicate a song to Coaches, I’d choose ‘Uomini Soli’ (Men alone). We are often the ones who have to pay the consequences for poor results and are left to fight on by ourselves.
“It is a great honour to be at the Nazionale, just as it was a childhood dream to play for Italy and I achieved it. When I became a Coach, the dream was to lead the Nazionale. Now the dream is to win.”
