Lotito is President of Lazio and also a counsellor in the Federation and was the main sponsor behind the election of FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio.
Controversial statements made by Lotito in a recorded phone call and reiterated in his interview with the Corriere della Sera newspaper have put his role in doubt.

Controversial statements made by Lotito in a recorded phone call and reiterated in his interview with the Corriere della Sera newspaper have put his role in doubt.
“Claudio Lotito’s position in the Federation is unsustainable as far as Fiorentina are concerned,” Della Valle told news agency ANSA.
So far Juventus, Roma and Fiorentina have backed calls to remove Lotito from his position as essentially the representative of Serie A clubs in the Federation.
Empoli and Sassuolo have also been critical of Lotito’s comments, but there appears to be support from the other sides.
“I don’t want to comment. I will only say Lotito was and still is my friend,” noted Milan CEO Adriano Galliani.
