Twelve players are suspended after Week 23, including Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez and three Atalanta footballers, while Udinese are fined.

The Rossonero shot-stopper still was sent off in the weekend draw against Empoli for handling outside the box, and has subsequently picked up a one-game suspension, as confirmed by the Lega Serie A today.

Atalanta's Yohan Benalouane also picked up a red card in the game against Inter for protesting too vehemently against the referee, and will skip a match.

In addition, the two teams have to do without other respective players – Milan lose the already injured Gabriel Paletta, whilst the Nerazzurri will be without Mauricio Pinilla and Carlos Carmona, who are suspended for accumulation of yellow cards.

Also banned from the next match for receiving their fourth yellow card are Fiorentina's Marcos Alonso, Torino's Cesare Bovo and Omar El Kaddouri, Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain, Lazio's Felipe Anderson and Cesena's Gabriele Perico.

Palermo's Luca Rigoni is also banned for the next match after picking up his eighth yellow of the term so far, like Atalanta’s Carmona.

The only team fined this week are Udinese, whose supporters are guilty of 'insulting chants' against the referee that will cost their club €2,000.
