Giorgio Chiellini reveals he was a Milan supporter, how he felt after missing a Super Cup penalty and that Juventus aren’t “squares.”

The defender was a guest on Rai programme Grand Hotel Chiambretti last night and joked about his costly slip against Borussia Dortmund.

“In Turin we love Carolina Kostner, so I tried imitating her ice skating technique, but it doesn’t work very well on grass,” he laughed.

“I was a Milan fan when I was a kid, but you improve as you grow older… I hope to end my career at Juventus, especially as I’m starting to get a bit old.”

Chiello was asked about Juve’s reputation for keeping a tight grip on their players’ behaviour both on and off the field.

“Our style remains the same, it’s just times have changed. You can’t ask Vidal or Pogba to cut their mohicans off, but what really matters is the attitude and in a club like ours that is monitored.

“However, at Juventus we are not so square as people think we are.”

Naturally, he was asked about the age-old Calciopoli-related question: How many Scudetti do Juventus really have?

“They are 32, for now. There will be more.”

Chiellini had other embarrassing slip-ups this season, most notably missing a penalty in the Italian Super Cup shoot-out against Napoli.

“I took the penalty because my previous record from the spot had been two for two. I hoped that someone after me could cover for my mistake, but that wasn’t the case.

“I wanted the ground to swallow me up at that moment.”
