Coach Vincenzo Montella confirms that he will stick with Fiorentina, in spite of Milan's attempts to lure him away.

The ongoing crisis within the Rossoneri suggests Coach Filippo Inzaghi may leave his place on the bench at the end of the season, with Montella touted by many as the most likely candidate for succession.

The ongoing crisis within the Rossoneri suggests Coach Filippo Inzaghi may leave his place on the bench at the end of the season, with Montella touted by many as the most likely candidate for succession.

However, the former Roma poacher dismissed all rumours in his press conference prior to the Coppa Italia game against Juventus.

“There is great clarity and respect from my side as well as the club's,” he said. “Nothing changed over these last few months except for the results.

“The conditions exist to keep going together, so I don't see why not.

“The club is very eager to lift a trophy and they deserve it, after everything they've done over these years.

“Last year we came close. This trophy is as important for me as it is for my players.”

The 40-year-old then went on to discuss his rivals in tomorrow's semi-final, Juventus.

“Teams that know how to play on the counter know how to do everything. We faced some teams that chose to attack us rather than wait for us.

“I see that Juventus knows how to wait for their adversaries more than they used to. But there is continuity in their development.

“I see no differences in the style of [Max] Allegri and [Antonio] Conte, they hold to the same values.

“As for ourselves, I'd like to see the best from the last two games. I want to see what we're capable of on the pitch, even if we have to change a few things from the strategic point of view.

“I expect the team to know that the game will be difficult and exhausting. We must be mentally prepared to take the punishment, while simultaneously showing quality.

“Our mentality and our courage have improved. My team remembers how to put what they know into practice, and I say this with no arrogance on my side.

“What's important is that the team doesn't delude itself and never stops working hard. The supporters have the right to dream big.

“As for the foreign interest shown in Fiorentina, we must know how to handle it. Our team knows that they should just have fun, regardless of the attention.

Finally, Montella closed his conference speaking of goalkeeper Neto, who returned to playing for Fiorentina in spite of widespread belief that he will move to Juventus next season.

“He has a good relationship with the rest of the team. When I chose to field [Ciprian] Tatarusanu, I felt that he was giving me greater guarantees.

“Now it's somewhat embarrassing to have two goalkeepers of such quality.

“Neto is calm, and aside from anecdotal evidence it remains to be seen whether he'll be heading for Juventus.

“If he's fit, he plays. There's no problem.”
