Adem Ljajic denies that Roma are suffering a 'psychological block' ahead of the Europa League Round of 16 against Fiorentina.

The Serbian fantasista is one of the few lights still shining for the Giallorossi, who have picked up eight draws in their last nine Serie A games.

“We always play like we know, so a bad phase is understandable,” said Ljajic in today's Press conference ahead of Roma’s European fixture at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

“But we must keep walking our own path, staying at our own level. Sometimes we have had to concede a goal to wake up and start playing better, but that's been rare.

“We must play our own game and keep the ball rolling. It's not true that we're suffering from a psychological block. We're a great group and we talk to each other.

“We know this was a bad month, but we want to emerge from it with our heads held high and return to our levels. Starting tomorrow.”

Sampdoria Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic said that Ljajic should learn to be more selfish, but the player seemed reluctant to take the advice.

“When I worked with him [in Fiorentina, in 2010-11] he always told me that, but I was young.

“Now I've changed. Of course every striker must be selfish, but choices are made on the pitch and if I see a teammate in a more favourable position I'll pass the ball. I think that's normal.”

Asked on his relationship with Coach Rudi Garcia, the 23-year-old said he and his teammates all shared the same view.

“We follow all of Garcia's directions. We try to put in practice on the pitch what we do over the week, but sometimes it doesn't work out.

“Everything that the Coach says, we try applying it in practice.

“We did well in the Champions League and we showed our worth in all but one of the games [the 7-1 defeat to Bayern Munich].

“It was a rough group and we were knocked out. But the Europa League is important and we want to make it to the next round.

“Let's hope we can do well, in tomorrow's game and the one after that.”
