Milan are setting their sights on Empoli Coach Maurizio Sarri for next season and asked his club for availability.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are already plotting for the post-Pippo Inzaghi era and this time want an experienced tactician.
Sarri took Empoli to promotion from Serie B last summer and earned many compliments for the organised and attractive style of football played by his team.
That hasn’t always translated into points, but with bigger stars at his disposal, Milan hope Sarri can become a new Arrigo Sacchi.
La Gazzetta claims CEO Adriano Galliani has already approached Empoli director Fabrizio Corsi to discuss Sarri’s availability for next season.
The two clubs have done business together regularly, as Riccardo Saponara is on loan from Milan.
The Rossoneri’s first choices for Coach are Vincenzo Montella of Fiorentina and Italy boss Antonio Conte, but both will be tough to prise away from their current jobs.
