This evening they beat Zenit 1-0 with Glik’s late header, but were eliminated 2-1 on aggregate.

“It’s a shame, because tonight their goalkeeper did some incredible things and we could’ve been 2-0 up in the first half alone,” Glik told Mediaset Premium.

“We were unable to score earlier, although I don’t know if my other goal should’ve been disallowed, as I thought I was level with Garay.

“We can be proud of what we’ve done and above all proud of our fans, who were fantastic. We hope to repeat these emotions next season too.

“We knew Zenit had quality and we cannot even be compared on an economic level, but we can be satisfied of our performances, aside from the result.”
