Rolando Maran felt two different penalty calls were decisive in Chievo's 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo.

The Flying Donkeys' string of positive results came to an end yesterday when they failed to come back against 10-man Atalanta, and the Coach did not take the scoreline kindly.

“After a match like that we deserved to emerge with a different result,” he told Rai Sport after the game.

“Before the penalty on [Domenico] Berardi there was an obvious one that should have been called for us.

“Besides, I don't think the tackle on Berardi was a penalty. We put in a good performance, but the individual incidents didn't go in our favour.

“We still have a lot to work to do, it would be dangerous for us to think we're already out of the relegation zone. Unfortunately we were penalised more harshly than we deserved.”
