Pippo Inzaghi admits it is “tough but gratifying” to be a Coach at his beloved Milan.

The tactician and former striker spoke to Sky Sport Italia at the presentation of a new book on the club’s history.

“Aside from San Siro, the stadium I am most fond of is in Athens, where we won the Champions League,” said SuperPippo.

“I also remember Yokohama, where I scored another two goals and won the Intercontinenal Cup.

“Obviously, my ‘magic’ stadium is San Siro, where I had such wonderful moments. It’s different being here as a Coach, but the game with Lazio was a great challenge and an emotional moment for me.

“Being Coach of Milan is tough but gratifying. I hope to give the fans something wonderful before the end of the season. We are working to get back into Europe.

“The fans have always stood by us, even if it’s difficult to conceive of a Milan that isn’t fighting for the Scudetto. With these owners, I am convinced we’ll soon get back to where we belong.”

The Rossoneri have for the first time this season won two Serie A games on the trot, but are still only in eighth place.

“We can’t rest on our laurels, as at the first setback everyone will be ready to criticise,” shrugged Inzaghi.

“I am happy with these two victories, above all for the lads, but Sampdoria will be a very tough and important test this weekend. We must control the game, because we are Milan.

“I will try to be a Coach for as long as possible. This is the path I am on and I want to continue following it.

“It’s not easy to be a young Coach in Serie A, but with passion and hunger for results, you can emerge eventually.”
