Serie B side Trapani had a lucky escape when a bridge crumbled on their way to the Sicily Derby against Catania.
The squad was travelling on the team bus with Coach Serse Cosmi towards Catania on Friday when they were stopped by police.
A few metres ahead, the road was being closed because a bridge on the Palermo-Catania motorway was collapsing.
There have been heavy storms in the area and flooding had eroded part of the support structure.
The Trapani bus had to turn around and find an alternative route.

Nobody was harmed in the incident, as authorities managed to close off the bridge in time, but photographs showed large cracks in the road where the bridge had buckled.
