The decision to close one end of the Stadio Olimpico for the next home game was made after several banners and chants insulting Antonella Leardi, the mother of murdered Napoli fan Ciro Esposito.

He was shot and killed by a drunken Roma supporter ahead of the Coppa Italia Final in May 2014.

The decision to close one end of the Stadio Olimpico for the next home game was made after several banners and chants insulting Antonella Leardi, the mother of murdered Napoli fan Ciro Esposito.

He was shot and killed by a drunken Roma supporter ahead of the Coppa Italia Final in May 2014.

Pallotta had at first complained because all the supporters were being punished “because of a few idiots,” but then decided not to appeal the ban after personally calling Leardi to apologise.

“The sporting justice system in Italy is like this, one man decides the day after,” noted Coach Garcia in his Press conference.

“He condemns or judges all the incidents of the weekend, whereas in other countries there is a commission and a debate.

“In this sense, it seems to me that the Italian justice system needs to improve, as it doesn’t look like the concept of justice to me.”
