The Seahorses were beaten 1-0 by Chievo on Sunday and are now seven points off safety with eight games left to play, but Foschi remains positive.

“We’re not looking at the table, we will go to try and win points in other games – We never give up, that’s for sure,” he told CalcioNews24.

“When you’re in our situation you can’t make lots of calculations, you need to go out onto the pitch always looking to win.

“The players gave everything so this time you can’t blame anything. The commitment and determination was there, we were just punished by an experienced opponent.”

Despite the bleak outlook following the result Foschi, refused to blame the match officials, who ignored strong penalty claims for Cesena during the match.

“I don’t want to talk about refereeing decisions, unfortunately that’s football. One moment you’re lucky, the next you aren’t.

“I’m not interested in complaining about any single episode, the team gave everything and played very well against a very strong Chievo side.”
