Rafa Benitez admits he tried to buy three Wolfsburg players for Napoli and it’ll be “difficult” against them.
The first leg of the Europa League quarter-final is on Thursday at 20.05 UK time (19.05 GMT).
“Wolfsburg are a strong side with huge potential, so we will give 100 per cent in this difficult game,” said the Coach in a Press conference.
“It’s true we tracked Luiz Gustavo, Ivan Perisic and Andre Schurrle for a long time, but it was not possible to sign them.”

This was Benitez’s first contact with the media since President Aurelio De Laurentiis threw Napoli into a training retreat a week ago, which is maintained even after beating Fiorentina 3-0.
“I respected the President’s decision. I have responsibility for this group that wants to win and give a dream to the fans.
“The last game doesn’t change our approach to this one. We did well against Fiorentina, but we had played better against Roma and Lazio even while losing.
“Football is like this, so when you create the most chances doesn’t necessarily translate into victory. The physical tests show the team is in good shape, so we hope to do even better tomorrow.”
