Berlusconi: 'Derby decides crisis'

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi told his team that facing Inter is “the most important match of the year.”

It kicks off on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for a match preview.

“From here to the end of the season you will have the chance to make a good impression,” Berlusconi told the squad during today’s morale-boosting visit.

He had been making these stop-overs every week before games, but this was his first in two months.

“Now that all the injury problems are behind us, apart from you (he said pointing to Riccardo Montolivo), we have the possibility to really give our all.

“Tomorrow’s game belongs in tradition. It is the most important match of the year. It’s even more important this time, because we are practically on a par with Inter in the table.

“Whoever wins will emerge from the crisis. Whoever loses is in the thick of a crisis, because the two clubs will be compared.

“Therefore it is particularly important and I am sure you’ll give the best you’ve got. I am convinced this game can take us back into the light.”
