Erick Thohir believes 'no-one is to blame' after Inter failed to secure a victory against rivals Milan, saying the team had 'bad luck'.

Yesterday's Derby della Madonnina ended in a 0-0 draw that left many dissatisfied, but the Nerazzurri President had nothing but praise for his team.

“Everyone played very well, everyone gave their best,” Thohir told the Press after the game. “You can't pick on a single element [that determined the draw], it was bad luck.

“It is nobody's fault that we did not win. Neither the players nor the Coach are to blame.

“Inter were a bit unlucky because we had a lot of chances to score and, one way or the other, it did not go in.

“In football it is hard to predict results, but all of us – starting from myself – will work hard to do what's best for the club.”

The derby was followed by controversy as both Coach Roberto Mancini and captain Andrea Ranocchia laid claims to a penalty in Inter's favour, but Thohir took his distances from the argument.

“I'd rather not comment the refereeing decisions, but I can say that [FIGC] President [Carlo] Tavecchio was at the game and he saw everything.

“Our supporters backed the team for the duration of the whole game. San Siro is our home and I'd like to say thank you to them, because they're essential.”
