Mattia Destro distanced himself from claims Milan are too “modest” for his ambitions, while his agent revises those words.
Representative Renzo Contratto caused quite a stir today when he said the Rossoneri represented “too modest an environment, perhaps the most modest in the last 30 years.”
They don’t look likely to qualify for Europe, which would be the second season in a row out of continental competition.
Destro replied personally via his Twitter account, noting: “With regards to the statements attributed to Renzo Contratto, I want to make it clear this would be his evaluation and does not reflect my thoughts.”
Contratto himself also spoke to MilanNews.it to clarify what he had meant.
“I never said Milan was a modest environment for Mattia Destro. I simply said that at this moment they are struggling for results and Milan have never been in such difficulty in recent years.
“When appeared in the media over the last few hours was taken out of context.”
