Silvio Berlusconi’s younger brother Paolo, vice-President of Milan, hints at a sale, saying the club needs new investors.
It appears that Silvio is on the verge of selling the Rossoneri to Thai investor Bee Taechaubol, with a Press conference scheduled for this afternoon.
Writing in the pages of Il Giornale, which he publishes, Paolo hinted that a deal is indeed imminent.
“In 29 years we have led the club to the top of the world,” the director began.
“With the advent of oil tycoons which have radically changed the market, we must take note.
“To continue with the ‘wonderful adventure of Milan’ [as we call it], several hundred million Euros will have to be invested.
“With the economic crisis in our country today, I think that would be immoral.
“The wisest thing to do is to identify a group with the economic capacity required to bring Milan back to the levels of the past, while perhaps continuing to be shareholders.”
