The Thai investor and his associates, including Doyen Sports, are on the verge of buying out 51 per cent of the Serie A club.

Negotiations have been going on intensively for several days and a deal had been expected on Thursday, but was delayed for unknown reasons.

This morning there has already been a flurry of activity, as Licia Ronzulli – an MEP for Forza Italia who has been acting as a go-between – met Taechaubol at his hotel at 05.00 local time, then drove to Berlusconi’s Arcore villa.

She then left and Berlusconi will have the decisive meeting with ‘Mr Bee’ at the Park Hyatt Milano hotel.

This could also be the venue for a joint Press conference.

Time is running out, as Taechaubol’s luggage is already loaded on to his vehicle.

There are also intriguing new reports that not only would Berlusconi remain as Honorary President, but that current joint-CEO Adriano Galliani would be appointed President.

It would be a controversial decision, as the ultras have repeatedly blamed Galliani for their recent failures.
