The Viola have lost four Serie A games in a row and are sliding back from the European places, but could also rotate the squad ahead of Thursday’s Europa League semi-final with Sevilla.

“We have to realise what squad rotation means and how it should be done. Lately we’ve played everyone and always lost, so it’s about coming on with the right mentality,” said the Coach.

“Considering what I saw against Juventus on Wednesday, I have a lot of confidence going into this game.

“Are our minds on Sevilla? At this moment we have two objectives to reach: fifth place, which we can get to in the next five rounds, and the Europa League Final.”

Gonzalo Rodriguez is suspended, while Khouma Babacar and Giuseppe Rossi are injured.

“Cesena have done some great things of late and have excellent counter-attacking strikers. If you don’t face them with the utmost concentration, they can be very dangerous opponents.”

Fiorentina have been linked with Cesena forward Gregoire Defrel and Montella shrugged off questions.

“Defrel is a very good player and extremely quick with the ball at his feet. I am concentrated on what we’ve got, so we’ll think about the future later on.”
