Patrice Evra hopes Juventus can repeat their Borussia Dortmund triumph when travelling to Real Madrid.

The Bianconeri won the first leg of the Champions League semi-final 2-1 in Turin.

“I think the most important thing is the win. It’s never easy to play Real Madrid, but I’m really proud of my teammates and the staff. We prepared very well for this game, it was important to win and that’s what we did,” Evra told ITV Sport.

“I think the most important thing is the win. It’s never easy to play Real Madrid, but I’m really proud of my teammates and the staff. We prepared very well for this game, it was important to win and that’s what we did,” Evra told ITV Sport.

“Of course we are a little bit disappointed about the Madrid goal, but the most important thing was winning.

“We did the same thing with Dortmund, after that we went and beat them 3-0. We are confident, it’s still 50-50 to qualify for the Final, but when you play for the Final you have to play your life.”

Carlos Tevez was on target again for his eighth Champions League goal, 29 this season in all competition.

“Tevez is a champion and a really great professional. I was really pleased to see him again and he’s had a fantastic year. I’m really pleased for Carlitos.

“We want to win this Champions League. We’ve done good stuff in the first leg, now we have to make sure we are ready for the second leg. It’s going to be difficult.

“This club has a massive history and it has to be respected. Nobody expected us to get to the semi-final. A lot of old fans and ex-players are really pleased, because they’ve done that in the past and it had been 12 years since they reached the semi-final.

“Now we’ll try to reach the Final.”
