Vincenzo Montella warned Sevilla “have many strengths, but also weaknesses” Fiorentina can exploit in the Europa League semi-final.

The first leg is played in Spain tomorrow at 20.05 UK time (19.05 GMT).

“I am very relaxed going into this appointment,” assured the Coach in a Press conference.

“We are not sated or resting on our laurels. We are so close to the Final and must prove our desire for this on the field.

“Sevilla are a very complete side who know how to do everything, including Italian-style counter-attacks. As a club they’ve been very successful in recent years too.

“We’d like to make this into a fantastic game. Sevilla are not perfect, they have many strengths and also weaknesses that we have identified.”

The Spanish media and Sevilla fans seem utterly confident that Fiorentina have no chance of winning. Is that an advantage for the Viola?

“It would’ve been an advantage if the Coach thought that too, but seeing as he is experienced and an expert at communicating with his team beforehand, it won’t be.

“We know a fiery atmosphere awaits us, but I have players of great character who rather than be intimidated will be further motivated. I am sure we’ll see a great game.

“If they’d asked Iker Casillas before the Juventus semi-final, he would’ve said he felt Real Madrid were favourites. These are just comments.

“Both teams got to this semi-final with merit and we’ll see what happens. I don’t think it’s a big difference playing home or away.”

Joaquin has a history of rivalry with Sevilla due to his time in La Liga, so is the Fiorentina winger providing some insight?

“We talked about Sevilla and his past, but also about Unai Emery as they worked together at Valencia. We spoke and he gave a bit of advice, but we knew everything via videos, computers and technology.

“Joaquin cares about this match very much and I am sure with his character that the emotion of the occasion won’t affect him.

“Did I speak to Carlo Ancelotti? No, I didn’t. Every game gives some ideas, but they have to be related to your own team. I saw many matches over the last few months and got different ideas.”

Montella was asked about the on-going reports that Milan are trying to sign Sevilla boss Emery for next season. Would he do well in Serie A?

“I don’t want to act as director of sport for other clubs! Emery proved that he is a great Coach and when you are talented, you can adapt and train everywhere.”
