The Tuscans mathematically ruled out the threat of relegation with today’s 1-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico, thanks to a Daniele Padelli howler.
“Obviously we are very happy because from our promotion in July 2014 nobody gave us a hope of staying in Serie A,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“This proves modern football has a place for a reality like Empoli. Will I stay at Empoli? At this moment yes, then in football something unpredictable can always happen and that goes for the club too. As of today, I say my future is here.”
The game was decided by a goalkeeping error and Sarri tried to reassure Padelli.
“It happened to me a couple of years ago in the Coppa Italia against Vicenza. The truth is that Torino use the goalkeeper so much when moving the ball around that a situation like this was bound to happen sooner or later.
“We can only accept these things and he mustn’t feel guilty.”
