“We started well and had a great chance with Mario Gomez. They scored at their first chance, we tried everything and kept conceding. It’s really disappointing,” the defender told Sport Mediaset after a 3-0 defeat.

“There wasn’t too much pressure. We played to attack and had three or four clear-cut chances, but we didn’t take them and Sevilla did.
“After the second goal, we were no longer Fiorentina. There’s still a chance in the second leg and we’ve got to try.”
The decider is at the Stadio Artemio Franchi next Thursday night.
