The pair clashed after the final whistle of the 2-2 draw at the Stadio Tardini on Sunday.

Today the Disciplinary Commission gave Coach Rafa Benitez a one-match ban, while Higuain was fined €10,000.

“The way I’d handle it would be I pay €5,000 and Gonzalo gets the other €5,000, that way we definitely end the whole debate,” Mirante told Radio Kiss Kiss.

“After the game Gonzalo sent the message to that it was already all over for me. These things happen on the field, but a minute later it’s all forgotten.”

Napoli players reacted furiously to the 2-2 result, as they lost crucial points chasing the Champions League places against a side that has already been mathematically relegated.

The Partenopei released a statement insisting the only protests were aimed at “time-wasting” by the Parma players.

“Nothing like that had happened against Roma or Juventus,” added vice-captain Massimo Gobbi on TeleRadio Stereo.

“Nobody had dared react that way to a team that had given its all on the field. I am really bitter about this, as nothing like that had ever happened to me.”
