“This is a very important and difficult game. It’s all about the extremes!” Marotta told Sport Mediaset.

“The first round was positive, this will be more difficult, but I believe in this team. There is the handicap of the heat, but it’ll be a problem for them too.

“We cannot sit on the laurels of the first leg result, which is very limited. Real Madrid are very prolific in the Champions League.

“The Coach wanted to transmit the right attitude to the players, which is to fight for the win from the start.”

Alvaro Morata will start against his former club, having already found the net in the first leg.

“Morata is a player who regardless of his young age has a very strong sense of internal balance. For him it’s a Champions League semi-final and I don’t think he’ll be affected much by playing in this stadium where he’s been many times before.”
