Barcelona defender Gerard Pique believes that his side stand as much chance of lifting the Champions League as Juventus

The Catalan club are being touted as heavy favourites to win the showcase event on June 6 in Berlin, but Pique believes the Bianconeri must be respected.

“We have a 50% chance of winning, we don’t feel like we’re absolute favourites,” he said ahead of Barca’s La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

“Juve are a great team, with a very important history and players of high quality.

“We respect Juventus and will do so on the pitch because, as they demonstrated at the Bernabeu, they don’t play defensive football despite being an Italian team.”

Despite looking forward to once again competing for European football’s greatest prize, Pique expressed regret at Real Madrid failing to join them in the final.

"Before my retirement I'd like to play in the Champions League final against Madrid, but I know it’s not easy,” he said.

“For the meantime I have to enjoy this final because I don’t know if I will have another chance.”
