Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero wasn’t happy with the referee after defeat to Lazio, but “we’ll earn Europe on the pitch.”

The Blucerchiati were beaten 1-0 at home last night, but replays suggest Miroslav Klose was impeding Emiliano Viviano on the Santiago Gentiletti goal.

“I say the only people who make mistakes are the ones who work, but this is the third time they’ve made a mistake that went against us,” Ferrero told Sport Mediaset.

“I say the only people who make mistakes are the ones who work, but this is the third time they’ve made a mistake that went against us,” Ferrero told Sport Mediaset.

“I know that to err is human and I have never complained, but then I see that those who shout about referees seem to get better treatment.

“I have always defended referees and only want to shout when we score a goal. We have 54 points without any gifts, as they gave us one or two penalties and about 87 against…

“I am disappointed, this is not football for me, as the sport must be more relaxed. We are fighting to get into Europe and three mistakes in a row is too many.”

Ferrero was asked if he thought the powers that be didn’t want Sampdoria in Europe.

“Well then they’ll be disappointed, because we are challenging for qualification. I am not afraid, we’ll earn Europe on the pitch.”
