Il Messaggero has reported that Roma are tracking Handanovic as the club do not want to trust 38-year-old De Sanctis with the No 1 spot for another season.

However, the 30-year-old is understood to also be of interest to Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal.

The newspaper believes that Roma’s list of alternatives include Marco Sportiello of Atalanta, Milan’s Diego Lopez and Orestis Karnezis of Udinese.

However, if Arsenal were to sign Handanovic, then the Giallorossi could be tempted to submit a bid for the Gunners’ Colombian international David Ospina.
