Cagliari director Stefano Capozucca warned Roma “anything could happen” if they don’t agree Radja Nainggolan terms soon.

The midfielder is co-owned between the two clubs and if they fail to reach a deal on who will buy him out permanently, it’ll go to a blind auction.

This sees both sides place a bid into a sealed envelope and the highest figure wins the remaining 50 per cent.

“The negotiations have been going on and will continue for the next few weeks,” director of sport Capozucca told Radio Sportiva.

“We have another 25 days to resolve the situation and find an agreement. If this deal with Roma is not reached, then anything can happen.

“Nainggolan is a player of international quality and it’s only natural that many clubs are interested in him.”

The Belgium international arrived in January 2014 for €3m on loan, plus an option to buy half his contract for another €6m.

The problem is that since playing for Roma, Nainggolan’s price-tag has sky-rocketed and Cagliari want at least €15m for the remaining half of his ownership.

If a deal is not reached, then Cagliari could comfortably make a very high bid in the blind auction backed by another club – for example Juventus.

There have already been reports that Juve agreed basic terms with his entourage to increase his wages from €1.8m per season to €3.7m.

Manchester United are also known to be interested in Nainggolan.
