Fiorentina have reportedly offered Vincenzo Montella a contract extension to 2017.

The Coach said last week that he had reached the end of an era, so needed to meet with the club to decide if they wanted to start another one together.

After a summit with patron Andrea Della Valle, both parties took some time to consider their options.

According to Sky Sport Italia this evening, Fiorentina have put a new contract on the table with expiry in June 2017.

Montella’s current deal only runs to June 2016, so this would be his final year at the club.

He is in the running for the job at Napoli – his home town club – along with Maurizio Sarri, Luciano Spalletti and Cesare Prandelli.
