Maurizio Sarri is already planning the Napoli transfer strategy with President Aurelio De Laurentiis today.

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi told reporters that Sarri had “already signed” for his new club, replacing Real Madrid-bound Rafa Benitez.

The tactician has been in Naples since yesterday and met with De Laurentiis for lunch at the Hotel Vesuvio on Saturday.

They discussed transfer strategy and how to move the team forward after finishing fifth in Serie A this season.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sarri has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with option for a second.

His wages would be €1.5m per season – five times the sum he earned at Empoli!

This term was Sarri’s first in Serie A, having helped Empoli to promotion from Serie B and worked most of his career in the lower leagues.

The Tuscan also revealed some months ago that he was a Napoli fan growing up, as he was born in the city.
