Milan are making a bid for €29m-rated Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, claim two Italian papers.
Both the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport today run the story on their front pages.
The Rossoneri are on a spending spree following Bee Taechaubol’s decision to buy 48 per cent of the club for €500m.
A deal is already done with Porto striker Jackson Martinez, paying the €35m release clause in his contract.
New Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic also requested reinforcements in defence, where the team has really struggled in recent years.
Hummels would fit the bill, as the 26-year-old is a World Cup winner with Germany and came through the Bayern Munich academy.
His transfer fee is believed to be in the region of €29m (£20m), but Manchester United are also very eager to get his signature.
Hummels has stated his desire to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer following Jurgen Klopp’s departure.
