This was supposed to be the day that Roma finally secured Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari, but there’s been another delay.

The Belgian international is co-owned between the two clubs and they must reach an agreement on what to do by June 25.

If they miss that deadline, it goes to a blind auction. This is where both clubs put a figure in a sealed envelope and the highest bid wins the remaining 50 per cent of his contract.

Sky Sport Italia felt today would be decisive for Roma to take complete ownership of Nainggolan, as only €1m separated offer and demand.

They also decided to remove Davide Astori – another player in a co-ownership situation with Cagliari – from the Nainggolan negotiations.

However, it’s reported that the clubs again failed to reach an agreement in today’s meeting.

If it goes to a blind auction, Cagliari could put in a huge bid, aware that the rest will be paid by a big club weeks later, including Juventus and Manchester United.
