It’s reported that FIGC will open their own investigation into alleged match-fixing in the ‘Goal Trains’ scandal.

Warrants were issued for the arrest of several Catania officials this morning, with at least five of the Elefanti’s matches under suspicion.

The public prosecutor Giovanni Salvi this morning outlined details of the allegations, referred to as ‘Goal Trains’ for the covert language used to arrange the alleged fixes.

Now CalcioNews24 reports that FIGC Prosecutor Stefano Palazzi will open his own investigation into the allegations, having asked the prosecutors for the records of their investigation.

If judged guilty, Catania would be likely to be demoted at least one division, as well as facing a potential points deduction for whatever league they end up in next season.
