Reports in Italy suggest Liverpool have made an offer for Inter’s Mateo Kovacic, but have been rejected.
The Reds are known to be interested in the Croatian playmaker, with suggestions that they have already agreed terms with the player.
SportMediaset is this afternoon reporting that the English side have made an offer for the 21-year-old, but have failed to meet the Nerazzurri’s asking price.
It’s thought the Beneamata would be unwilling to let Kovacic leave for anything less than €30m [£21m], given his age and the fact his contract runs until 2019.
One thing which could be in Liverpool’s favour, however, is UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules, with Inter already having been sanctioned.
