Milan defender Cristian Zaccardo assures reports he rejected every destination are “untrue.”

The 33-year-old has a contract until June 2016 and was already said to be on his way out a year ago, but remains at San Siro.

Fans reacted angrily to the latest rumours that he is turning down all potential transfers, allowing him to continue picking up wages from the Rossoneri.

“For years in silence I tried to do my job to the best of my abilities,” wrote Zaccardo on his Twitter and Instagram today.

“I was never over the top, never against club or coaching decisions. I think football should be for all those people who put seriousness and passion in the play or in support.
“Unfortunately today I read for the umpteenth time that I refused various destinations. I stress, out of respect for the football fans, that such information is untrue, or at least unknown by me.”
