The Rosanero have become a gateway for young South American talents to move into Europe’s biggest clubs, including Edinson Cavani, Javier Pastore and now Paulo Dybala to Juventus.

“The big coup of the summer so far has been Juve getting Dybala,” Zamparini told Radio Due.

“The deal was worth €32m and €8m of bonuses that we will easily be able to cash in. They were only put in to spread the payment out.

“Why didn’t he go to Roma? I gave Dybala to the side with the most money and Juventus are much richer than Roma.”

The Sicilians had also considered selling striker Vazquez to “Milan and an English club, but he is a reference point for our team and is not for sale. We are building the squad around him.

“We’ve got Federico Viviani from Roma and are tracking Calleri. We’ll probably close the deal for €6-7m.”

Calleri is a 21-year-old Boca Juniors striker who scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 40 competitive games this season.
