Claims Inter have stepped up talks with Chelsea for Juan Cuadrado, as Mohamed Salah will stay at Fiorentina, or get Napoli’s Dries Mertens.

The Nerazzurri had been hoping to snap up Salah on loan with option to buy if the Egyptian exercised his power of veto over a Viola extension.

The latest reports suggest Salah will commit to Fiorentina, including a permanent transfer for €18m.

With this in mind, Sky Sport Italia maintain Inter turned their attention back towards Cuadrado – another player owned by Chelsea.

With this in mind, Sky Sport Italia maintain Inter turned their attention back towards Cuadrado – another player owned by Chelsea.

He only arrived from Fiorentina in January for €31m plus the Salah loan, but has struggled to settle in at Stamford Bridge.

The Colombian also looked a shadow of his former self in the Copa America and is sorely lacking in confidence.

Inter are offering to take Cuadrado on loan with mandatory option to buy in 2016.

Crucially, Chelsea seem open to that proposal and can enter more intensive negotiations.

Sky Sport Italia also suggest that Roberto Mancini has a third option in the form of Napoli winger Mertens.

The Belgium international is expected to move on this summer, as he does not fit into new Coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans.
