The saga has taken a very nasty turn, as Salah claims he has the power of veto over an extension of his loan in Florence, but the club insists he missed the deadline to make that clear.

Now the Viola have sent out two letters that take the situation up a gear.

The first is to Salah, reminding him that he is due at pre-season training on July 13 in Moena and failure to do so will see him open to legal action.

The second letter was addressed to Inter, warning them that they have broken the rules by contacting a player who is under contract.

It’s widely reported the Nerazzurri are behind Salah’s decision to walk away from Fiorentina with talks that began two months ago.

Chelsea have yet to comment on the matter and if the Egypt international does leave Fiorentina, it will be for a return to Stamford Bridge.

At that point he’d push for a transfer back to Serie A, on loan or permanently.
