Salvatore Sirigu’s agent blasts Roma interest, pointing out “they could’ve signed him years ago for a laughable sum.”

The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper was reportedly the subject of an offer worth between €8m and €11m – depending on the source.

“Salvatore feels Parisian now and will not leave. The chances of him going to the Giallorossi? Zero,” agent Carlo Pallavicini told Tuttomercatoweb.

It was Roma director of sport Walter Sabatini who first launched Sirigu on to the main stage at Palermo.

“Sabatini is a great director and if Sirigu became a star it was also thanks to him, but Sabatini had the chance to bring Sirigu to Roma years ago for a laughable sum.

“With €3.5m he could’ve joined the Giallorossi in 2011, but Sabatini told us he didn’t feel the player was ready to go from Palermo to Roma.”

Meanwhile, French newspaper L’Equipe claims today that Valencia are considering an offer for Sirigu.

He’d be a replacement for injured Diego Alves.
