Niang shines in Milan test

M’Baye Niang scored twice in Milan’s first friendly of the season, beating local side Alcione 5-1.

The game got off to an inauspicious start, as within five minutes Alcione had taken the lead when Gennarelli burst past a sluggish Cristian Zaccardo.

The equaliser arrived on 20 minutes, Nigel de Jong converting a penalty, then Alessio Cerci set up an Andrea Poli goal before scoring his own angled drive.

There were numerous changes after the break, including the debut for ex-Parma midfielder Jose Mauri.

Antonio Nocerino hit the bar twice, while Niang bagged a brace.

Jose Mauri went off with a slight knee problem.
