The Tuscans already put forward one proposal of €7.5m that was rejected.
According to Sky Sport Italia, they are now ready to pay €3m for a loan with another €6m to buy on a permanent basis.
However, Gremio are eager to get the full €8m asking price straight away.
Still only 20, Walace grew up in the Gremio youth academy and was upgraded to the senior squad in January 2014.
