Ignazio Abate hopes to make his Milan comeback next month, but acknowledges the need for patience.

The Rossoneri face the Spanish giants in China tomorrow, as part of their pre-season preparations, a match the Italian international had initially targeted for his comeback.

However, the full-back is now aiming to be involved in the Audi Cup, which will see the Diavolo compete with Los Merengues, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur on August 4 and 5.

“I am feeling a lot better,” Abate said in a Press conference alongside Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

“I am training really well with a fitness coach. I hope to be available again for the Audi Cup.

“It’s hard to miss out and not to be with your team-mates, but you need patience to avoid injuring yourself again.”
