Palermo's new signing Matheus Cassini says he wants to have 'a great season' but will put the team first.

The 19-year-old is but the latest in a string of successful signings that the Rosanero picked up from South America, and with Paulo Dybala having departed for Juventus, he'll have some big shoes to fill.

“I certainly want to do well,” he told TGR Sicilia. “I'll be playing in a different league than the Brazilian one for the first time and I hope to have a great season.

“My objectives? I've got several, the most important one is certainly that of making myself as useful to the team as possible.

“I want to do what's good for the team and help them reach safety [from relegation] as soon as possible.”

Finally, the Brazilian was asked about his relationship with Palermo Coach Giuseppe Iachini.

“I never spoke with him off the pitch, but he teaches me a lot during training.”
