Matheus Cassini says it's 'early' to discuss Palermo's objectives, but he has 'a strong desire to be an important part of this team'.

The Brazilian prodigy was brought in to replace Paulo Dybala and will have some big shoes to fill, but he seems not to feel the pressure.

“Training's going fine, this is a phase of adaptation for me,” he told the club's official broadcast channel.

“I had a bit of trouble, as one may expect, but I'm working as hard as I can to speed up my integration.

“I'm trying to steal a few secrets from my comrades. Palermo have some valuable players and I listen to all of their advice, from [Roberto] Vitiello to [Stefano] Sorrentino.

“[Andrea] Belotti is an important point of reference too. Everyone is giving me a lot.”

The 19-year-old was also asked about his new Coach, Giuseppe Iachini.

“He doesn't speak with the players very much, not individually. But he's a tireless worker.

“He's always honest and fair with his players. Being coached by him is important for my growth.

“Ours is a team of great quality, but it's early to discuss objectives.

“I have such a strong desire to be an important part of this team.

“I can adapt to all the tactics the Coach gives to us, I want to keep playing and training to the max.

“I can't wait to play the first game at the Barbera.”
