Roma are looking to France for a new left-back, targeting Lucas Digne of PSG or Sevilla’s Bleus talent Benoit Tremoulinas.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Giallorossi consider 22-year-old Digne to be their first choice for the role and are in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain.

They hope the club will agree to release him on loan with option to buy, but that could be tricky considering the degree of Premier League interest in him, especially from Liverpool.

“I cannot name names, but many clubs are interested in him,” said Digne’s agent Mikkel Beck this week.

“What I can confirm is that Lucas is not 100 per cent happy with the situation in Paris.”

Another alternative would be Tremoulinas, who had already been a target for Roma back in June.

A new meeting with Sevilla to see if the situation has changed is not to be ruled out.
