Roberto Mancini said Inter’s 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray “will help us improve” and is confident the goal drought will end soon.

The Nerazzurri were beaten again in Istanbul, but above all have now failed to score for 360 minutes of football.

“It was a good game. Galatasaray are an excellent squad, the best in Turkey,” Mancini told Inter Channel.

“They have talented players and, aside from the result, it was a friendly that will help us improve.

“We are creating scoring opportunities, but not managing to get the ball in the net. Fortunately it’s happening now, as I am sure when we start scoring it’ll be back to normal without problems.”

The winning goal came from a combination of two former Inter players, Wesley Sneijder and Lukas Podolski.

“The game changed after Sneijder’s goal, also because there were so many substitutions, but we still created the chances to equalise.

“We weren’t terribly sharp, as we had only one training session after returning from China. I saw some good things against a side that is further ahead than us in pre-season preparation.

“At this stage it’s better to face strong opponents, as it helps us understand where we need to improve. We lacked goals, they will come.

“Losing can be irritating, but I am not worried.”
