“We could have done better, they are further forward with their preparations, but I’m not looking for excuses,” Mihajlovic told reporters after the game at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

“We know we have a lot of work to do. This tournament has shown us our problem areas. Nobody has a magic wand to resolve the problems.

“We need to work hard and have confidence. In China we did well, we can’t always be changing our opinions.

“At this moment there are teams who are better than us. These are matches that help us, they help us understand where we are. Even when you lose, you have to try to be optimistic.”

The Serbian tactician also answered questions on forwards Carlos Bacca, Luiz Adriano and Alessio Cerci.

“Bacca and Luiz Adriano haven’t been working with us for long. They are at 30-40 per cent, it is impossible to judge them.

“Alessio did well today, but if we have to analyse things there were many negatives.”
