Milan’s M’Baye Niang could be out for a lengthy spell following the confirmation of a metatarsal injury.

The 20-year-old midfielder suffered the injury to his right foot during the Rossoneri’s 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich yesterday.

“Milan announces that during the course of the match against Bayern Munich yesterday evening, M’Baye Niang fractured the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot,” a statement on the San Siro club’s website reads.

Meanwhile, Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo was taken to hospital after suffering a head injury in today’s loss to Tottenham.
